What are you looking to do during the summer or after you graduate from college? Have you thought about the possibility of teaching tennis?
If you’re a tennis player, you already have a skill that not many people have. Why not try and pass that along to others and make a little money doing it? There are many summer positions open for college students to teach. And if you graduate this spring, it’s a good way to subsidize your income by teaching part-time.
“But how can I get the training and/or certification?” you ask. That’s what the Professional Tennis Registry (PTR) took in mind when they created the PTR on Campus program. The PTR works with collegiate varsity and club teams to make sure they get the proper training.
The PTR offers college students the opportunity to learn, get liability insurance, and membership all for an affordable price. All the student is required to do is give 10 free lessons in the community, which may be a great opportunity to build your resume.
Colleges that have already gone through this training include Maine, Texas Tech, Washington, Furman, St. Mary's, Ouachita Baptist, South Alabama and South Carolina State. If your club team is interested in having the PTR come to your campus, contact Dan Santorum at 800-421-6289 or 843-785-7244 or email him at santorum@adelphia.net.
